BCT Taxonomy 1.0

This application offers a streamlined and fully searchable digital version of the Behaviour Change Technique Taxonomy v1 (BCTTv1), as developed by Michie et al. (2013).

It encompasses 93 distinct behaviour change techniques (BCTs), each accompanied by labels, clear definitions, and illustrative examples. These techniques are systematically organized into 16 groups to facilitate rapid identification and use. The taxonomy serves as a practical resource for professionals involved in the design, documentation, or assessment of behaviour change interventions.

The development of BCTTv1 was a collaborative three-year initiative, supported by the UK Medical Research Council and led by a multidisciplinary team of behavioural scientists from:
